Asus announced on Tuesday its impending unveiling of the company’s first ‘AI PC’, leveraging Qualcomm’s Snapdragon X Elite system-on-chips, scheduled for later this month. This groundbreaking laptop will be presented during the Next Level. AI Incredible virtual launch event on May 20.
Asustek is set to introduce its new Vivobook S 15 at an event co-hosted by Asus, featuring collaboration with Qualcomm and Microsoft. These companies will showcase their joint efforts in creating the inaugural notebook powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon X Elite processors. These cutting-edge SoCs, engineered with the Arm instruction set architecture, are anticipated to significantly influence the PC market by combining superior performance, enhanced on-device AI acceleration, and extended battery life.
Qualcomm brands its Snapdragon processor-based systems as AI PCs, a term that Asus also applies to its Vivobook S15. For now, it’s known that the device will incorporate Qualcomm’s Snapdragon X Elite or Snapdragon X Plus processors, featuring either 12 or 10 Oryon CPU cores (originally created by Nuvia), a top-tier Adreno GPU, and a 45 TOPS NPU. The laptop will boast a metallic body and a 15-inch display.
The upcoming launch event signifies a major collaboration among Asus, Microsoft, and Qualcomm, marking the introduction of Asus’s pioneering AI PCs. “These new-era Asus AI PCs are poised to revolutionize computing, merging advanced AI capabilities with the innovative technologies from Asus and Microsoft to offer personalized AI experiences tailored to meet individual needs,” Asus stated.
In addition, Asus plans to highlight its Vivobook laptops powered by Qualcomm processors at the upcoming Computex event in June, with the actual systems set to hit the market later this year.
