Death Stranding 2: On the Beach is arriving on PlayStation 5 on June 26. At SXSW, Kojima Productions unveiled a 10-minute trailer for the upcoming game, providing the most comprehensive look yet at the sequel to 2019’s Death Stranding. Pre-orders begin on March 17 at 10AM local time, and those purchasing the Digital Deluxe or Collector’s Edition will gain early access two days prior to the official release.
Hideo Kojima appeared alongside Norman Reedus and Troy Baker on stage at SXSW 2025 to talk about the eagerly awaited new game. The trailer reveals that Death Stranding 2 is set 11 months following the formation of the United Cities of America. As previous insights have indicated, Reedus reprises his role as Sam, with Léa Seydoux returning as Fragile, and Baker as Higgs. The 10-minute video also introduces a host of new characters to the cast.
Death Stranding 2 was initially announced back in 2022, and last year’s PlayStation State of Play offered a 9-minute preview of the game. By summertime, you’ll finally have the chance to play it.
