Arctic Wolf Bolsters Cybersecurity Capabilities with Acquisition of Revelstoke Automation Platform
Arctic Wolf, a leading cybersecurity company that has secured substantial funding and raised the bar in the industry, has just made a major announcement. The company plans to acquire Revelstoke, a cutting-edge cybersecurity automation platform. This move is set to enhance Arctic Wolf’s ability to detect and respond to cyber threats with lightning speed and exceptional precision.
In a blog post, Dan Schiappa, Chief Product Officer of Arctic Wolf, expressed his excitement about the acquisition and the enhanced capabilities it will bring. He explained that incorporating Revelstoke’s platform into Arctic Wolf’s existing solutions will revolutionize the way customers combat cybersecurity attacks. Through tailored response actions and advanced threat detection technology, Arctic Wolf aims to make security operations more efficient and the outcomes achieved through automation and AI almost effortless.
While specific details regarding the acquisition remain undisclosed, it has been confirmed that 30 members of Revelstoke’s team will join Arctic Wolf. Furthermore, Bob Kruse, Revelstoke’s Co-founder and CEO, will transition into Arctic Wolf’s product-line sales team, ensuring a smooth integration process.
Revelstoke, founded in 2020 and based in San Jose, California, had built a remarkable platform that automated various security processes through pre-built integrations and a library of response playbooks. The platform stood out with its user-friendly drag-and-drop playbook builder, empowering customers to configure customized workflows with minimal code. Revelstoke also offered a reporting capability that quantified the impact of a security team’s efforts, making it easier for businesses to understand their cybersecurity posture.
One of the standout features of Revelstoke’s platform was its unified data layer, enabling seamless integration of IT and cybersecurity technologies for automation and orchestration purposes. The platform also incorporated AI and large language models, drawing inspiration from OpenAI’s ChatGPT, to streamline response playbook development.
Prior to being acquired by Arctic Wolf, Revelstoke had successfully raised $38 million in funding from notable investors such as SYN Ventures, ClearSky Security, Rally Ventures, and Crosslink Capital. The acquisition is seen as a strategic move for Arctic Wolf, solidifying the company’s position as a frontrunner in the cybersecurity market.
This acquisition marks Arctic Wolf’s third successful acquisition, following the purchases of RootSecure, a cybersecurity vulnerability assessment toolkit, and Tetra Defense, a provider of ransomware stress test solutions. With over 2,000 employees and recognition as one of the fastest-growing companies, Arctic Wolf is making waves in the industry.
While Arctic Wolf had hinted at a potential IPO in 2022, the company has shifted its focus to strengthening its offerings through strategic acquisitions. With nearly $500 million in venture capital, a global customer base of over 3,000 businesses, and an annual recurring revenue exceeding $200 million, Arctic Wolf is well-positioned for continued growth and success.
In the relentless battle against cyber threats, Arctic Wolf’s acquisition of Revelstoke ensures that businesses can remain one step ahead by leveraging advanced automation and orchestration capabilities. With their combined expertise and revolutionary technology, Arctic Wolf and Revelstoke are poised to set new standards in the cybersecurity landscape.
