We’ve entered a new era of AI. Google has introduced an AI video maker, now available on select Workspace editions.
Google Vids utilizes Google’s AI model, Gemini, to produce workplace and marketing videos from Google Drive files and descriptions. You have the option to either start a video from scratch or use a pre-made template to begin your first draft. Additionally, there’s a “Help me create” feature where Gemini can suggest scripts to kickstart your video creation.
Google Vids isn’t limited to the templates provided. You can incorporate your personal photos and videos. It also includes a virtual recording studio, allowing you to add your own media, record personal videos, or create audio tracks featuring your voice to accompany your video.
Google announced its new AI video making feature in April powered by the Gemini AI model. Unlike Runway’s Gen-2 or OpenAI’s Sora, which created a striking Toys ‘R Us origin story movie, Google Vids compiles media into a slideshow format based on the contents of the source documents or your given suggestions. As a part of Google Workspace, Google Vids allows for real-time collaboration on video projects with team members.
Google Vids is available to members of Business Standard, Business Plus, Enterprise Standard, Enterprise Plus, Essentials, Enterprise Essentials, and Enterprise Essentials Plus.
