Samsung’s 2025 Bespoke Appliances Embrace AI Innovation

Returning to CES, Samsung showcased its plans for 2025. Recently, I had the opportunity to explore the complete lineup all in one location, and it felt like an ideal moment to quickly highlight some of the most exciting new products and features expected to join Samsung’s Bespoke collection later this year.

The focal point of the Bespoke series continues to be their refrigerator lineup, now offered with two screen size options. One model features a compact 9-inch screen starting at $3,999, while the larger Family Hub+ boasts a striking 32-inch display for $4,699. The smaller version caters to those desiring a more subtle presence, yet still provides access to Samsung’s smart features, including widgets for calendars, music, weather, various cooking applications, and more. In contrast, the larger model is aimed at families who are comfortable with having a substantial screen in front of them every time they access the fridge, even enabling TikTok video playback.

Samsung aims to offer even more engaging experiences with these displays through enhanced AI-powered tools, including its upgraded AI Vision Inside feature for object recognition. Utilizing sensors installed within the appliance, Samsung’s latest Bespoke fridge can identify 37 kinds of fresh ingredients (such as fruits and dairy) and up to 50 processed foods. This enables the fridge to maintain an updated inventory of what you might have on hand, accessible via its display or from your smartphone while grocery shopping.

I recognize that AI has become somewhat of a buzzword lately, and I’m not entirely certain how AI-driven object recognition distinctly differs from traditional methods. However, the convenience of having your fridge generate a list of its contents while you shop is something I appreciate. Other features of Samsung’s Bespoke French-Door refrigerators include integrated Wi-Fi and SmartThings connectivity, a Dual Auto Ice maker that produces both standard and smaller “Ice Bite” cubes, and the practical Beverage Center with its built-in cold water pitcher.

If that’s not high-tech enough, Samsung is also introducing a new 4-door fridge (starting at $3,999) that utilizes both a conventional compressor and a solid-state thermoelectric cooling. The concept behind this is that, during normal operations, the compressor ensures consistent cooling, while the AI-driven Peltier module activates during significant temperature fluctuations—like when groceries are being loaded or if the door is left open for too long. This not only helps restore optimal temperatures more efficiently but also minimizes overall energy usage. For those needing a compact refrigerator, Samsung has also created the Bespoke 4-Door Flex Kitchen Fit Refrigerator (pricing yet to be announced). While it lacks a Peltier module, this model features innovative door designs and hinges that barely extend when opened, requiring only a mere 4mm (0.15 inches) of clearance on either side.

In terms of cooking, Samsung’s matte glass induction cooktops largely remain unchanged, but the Bespoke 30-inch single ($3,759) and double ($4,649) wall ovens incorporate…you guessed it, more AI functionality. Featuring a 7-inch display, the ovens include cameras and sensors that can recognize up to 80 different recipes, ensuring optimal cooking times. For those who enjoy culinary creativity, Samsung allows users to save recipe and temperature settings after preparing the same dish five times. Plus, the oven’s cameras have a playful side, capable of recording videos and creating time-lapses of your culinary creations for social media sharing.

When cleanup time arrives, Samsung’s $1,399 Bespoke Auto Open Door Dishwasher showcases a few innovative features. This dishwasher employs AI and sensors to accurately detect food residue and adjust cleaning cycles accordingly. Additionally, it includes a third rack with dedicated sprayers for glasses, and operates at a whisper-quiet 38 decibels, making it one of the quietest models in its category.

Next up in laundry, Samsung presents its $3,099 Bespoke AI Laundry Vented Combo, reportedly the first of its kind, primarily designed for vented installations unlike most combined washer/dryers, which cater to smaller spaces (a non-vented option is also available). Impressively, Samsung asserts that this combo unit can run a full wash and dry cycle in a remarkable 68 minutes, surpassing many traditional paired models.

Lastly, we encounter the $1,099 Bespoke AI Jet Ultra Cordless Stick Vacuum, which appears to be Samsung’s response to Dyson. Featuring a powerful HexaJet motor, it offers up to 400AW of suction and a battery life of up to 100 minutes. Samsung promotes this combination as the most powerful and enduring stick vacuum available today. Additionally, it incorporates AI to smartly identify the type of surface it’s on, optimizing its cleaning efficiency. The trade-off, however, is that the vacuum’s shaft and housing are bulkier than many competitors, potentially making it less maneuverable.
